Positions Available:

*Lead Web Developer

This job includes: Managing the direction of Byte's site and application development, creating and managing the technology of web sites and their content management, and creating web applications.  Applications include social networking, member areas, e-commerce systems, build tools, and continuing to expand our advanced content management system.   You will be managing a small team of programmers / HTML / JS gurus.

We work primarily in PHP, HTML and Javascript (with the help of frameworks including jQuery and Prototype).  We also use a lot of open source and closed source tools to create different media types (images, audio, etc.) and communicate with other servers (UPS, Authorize.net, etc.)

This position requires a degree of interface and user experience design, and you can expect to learn much in this area.  While we'd probably have the urge to punch Zeldman, we also know he's right more than he's wrong.  You'll be pitching ideas to clients, and, if the client likes your ideas, you'll be building them.

You will be given time to research new ideas, try new technologies, and write about it on our soon-to-be blog.

Pay is depending on experience.

*Junior Web Developer

This job includes: programming and coding web sites with HTML, JS / dHTML (with frameworks), and PHP / MySQL.  You'll be learning a bit about every aspect of advanced application developing, and integrating interface design and usability in all the sites we build.  You'll be working with an expert team, and you'll be learning everything you'd want to know about web development, content management, media content management (Flash, dynamic images, etc.)

This job also gives you the ability to move toward whatever direction you like best, and if you will be given time to research new ideas, try new things, and write about it on our soon-to-be blog.

You need to be really good at least one technology. Recent graduates and people in unrelated fields are encouraged to apply -- your style and verve can trump your lack of work experience.

Pay is depending on experience.

*Graphic and Interface Designer

This job includes: Designing web sites, Flash, motion graphics, interfaces, and more.  We have been known for our design, and we're going to take it up a notch with your help.  You'll be working directly with clients to produce award-winning sites and motion graphics.  You'll be turning clients' objectives into high design and concept.

You'll be learning everything you need to know about technology and usability.  You'll be learning how to create and manage site maps, wire frames, and other content maps.  You'll be heralding content from clients into their sites.  And you'll be the final QC check as things go live.

You do not have to be really technological to work here because you'll learn much more about it as you go.  You do have to have a great eye for high design and concept and a keen interest to learn more and grow with the position.

Recent graduates and people in unrelated fields are encouraged to apply -- your style and verve can trump your lack of work experience.

Pay is depending on experience.

For this position and any Byte Studios position, CREATIVE THINKING IS THE NUMBER ONE REQUISITE.

The job will include lots of things outside of the world of design / programming, including dealing with clients, managing some office duties, and who knows what else. You will probably never be bored, and you will need to thrive on new challenges every day. This position will require lots of energy and, if you're not fully trained already, a serious time commitment especially in the first three months.

Although we will happily train you in most things, you must be able to hand-code and program web sites. So if your heart is set on just doing design, this isn't the right job for you. Photoshop skills will be very important, but if you aren't proficient, we can get you up to speed.

Sorry, no H1 visas and no relocation on this position. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we encourage minorities, women, and non-traditional work / education path people to apply.
