Byte Studios in Action: Case Studies Clients | Portfolio | Case Studies
WUWM WUWM is Milwaukee's Public Radio news and music station. WUWM.com uses iControl to manage hourly content changes, user polls, current weather and programming, and Real Audio news and information clips. When we started working with WUWM four years ago, they were making changes once every two months to their site. We installed our iControl system, and they were free to make changes at any time without the help of a programmer. Now they update the site once every two hours on average, and have the latest content, news tickers, and Real Audio newsclips from NPR, National Public Radio. In January 2000, Byte Studios' President Michael Diedrick went to an NPR/PBS conference in Washington D.C. to learn about local versus national programing for public radio stations. WUWM was the only site that was easy to update without a web staff. We redesigned the site to look like a news and current information site. "Say what you will about the three-column web site," says Diedrick, "For WUWM, it works,. People can tell the site will house up-to-the-minute content from the look alone." Byte Studios' iControl makes the site possible, and this same iControl allows WUWM to update and check online pledges. 2000 is the first year WUWM had a Cyberday during their November fund drive. Cyberday marks their direction to have more online activity during fund drives, and less on-air promotion. If you listen to Public Radio, you know that less on-air promotion during a fund drive is excellent for listeners, too. Visit site | On to Contact Us Clients | Portfolio | Case Studies
