We create fully customized and turn-key content managed web sites. Each design is fully created for our client - we don't follow templates, and we don't follow the crowd.
Web design, as you see it generally, is pretty bad. A lot of people can't see the differences between good and bad design. Think of it this way - a lot of people can't see the difference between good and bad automobile engineering. But it's something that they can feel, and they know it a lot better when they get behind the wheel and really drive. If your web site drives well, handles professionally, and makes the visitor feel both confident and good about the experience, then that is a good web site. We've done our jobs, and we've got our connection.
Web sites are about experience. Each client offers us a new and exciting experience to create from the ground up. We use tools like audio, motion, video, and well-written text to communicate effectively and give users the best experience possible.
Let's be clear - the best design is simple, clear, and truly unique. Our number one focus here is an effective web design with a back-end that allows you full control of the content.
We follow these simple design principles to create outstanding web sites again and again. They have yet to steer us wrong.
Our design principles include:
1. Web design is part of a bigger picture. A web site is usually a center point around a larger communication picture, and we connect all the parts into a series of user-paths that we can measure and understand.
2. Web site design is a sensory medium. We use video, audio, motion, design, technology and just plain coolness as tricks of the trade. Web design is an immersible medium. It has no inherent need to be only a brochure.
3. Web design must follow standards and user interface methods that work for everyone. Standards for us include different browsers, different devices, Section 508, Watchfire / Bobby and other compliance programming, xHTML / CSS programming and much more. Navigation and user interface needs to work for the users, not for the administrators. By tracking statistics, we see the payoff become clear with this understanding.
4. Web sites must be fully content manageable for most site owners. If the site owner cannot make changes to their site, the success of the site becomes less and less. Our CMS systems manage text, images, Flash, audio and video, and pretty much any kind of medium out there. And it's as easy as using a word processor.
5. A web site's shelf life needs to be five years plus. Most site creators don't expect a site to last more than a couple of years, and unfortunately, that's often the case. But if a site is designed to last a minimum of five years, then the site will have the ability to handle changes and new ideas a lot better.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. We're extraordinarily interested in the details of a web site, and we're always learning and sharing our findings.
